Video Surveillance

This privacy notice is valid since April 22, 2025. (Older versions of the privacy policy can be found here).

This data protection notice supplements Barona’s Employee Data Protection Notice, which can be read at https://policies.barona.fi/employee/

Purpose and extent of personal data processing

A video surveillance system is used at Barona’s facilities, properties and outdoor areas to ensure order, safety and security.

The system records video of persons who move around or are present in the outdoor areas of a property, inside warehouses, in other indoor areas of a property that are intended for personnel or in an area with access-controlled doors, gates or similar passageways.

The purpose of processing personal data is to ensure order, safety and security and to investigate complaints, damage or accidents, theft or other harmful activities at Barona’s facilities, properties and outdoor areas.

The subjects of the filming are informed by means of notices displayed at the locations that are subject to video surveillance. Video surveillance is not targeted at individual employees or workstations used by employees.

Disclosures and transfers of personal data

Personal data may be disclosed to the Police or other authorities on a legal basis. Personal data may also be disclosed to companies that are part of the Bravedo Group in order to make legal claims and to an insurance company for the processing of compensation in the event of a claim.

Barona uses external service providers to process personal data when it comes to tasks such as IT system maintenance and development and security control room tasks. These service providers process personal data on behalf of Barona on the basis of a written contract.

Personal data retention period

Video recordings are usually retained for a maximum of 12 months. However, the retention period can be extended on a case-by-case basis at the request of, for example, an authority or insurance company.
